The February Round Up!

Month two is over and  the blog has gone from strength to strength. There’s no doubt why – the stories in the Master’s Community told in the “Meet the Masters” interviews are simply a cracking read. We had lots of great interviews in February!

Listen to your elders! They have the keys to effective recovery.

Over the last few months we interviewed a selection of the UK’s top Masters. They proved that the old adage of “Listen to your elders!” was wise advice.

The definition of CrossFit includes the following explanation, “We scale load and intensity; we don’t change the program. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind.”
 The same principle is true for a Master’s recovery protocol. No new or different programme is needed compared to the younger box members but we do need to scale load and intensity; but in the opposite direction. We need to do more warming up and cooling down, spend more time on our mobility and eat more of the good stuff  (and less of the bad).
