Here is our weekly “5-Bullet Friday”; a list of CF related stuff we’re enjoying or pondering here at MtB. As often as we can, we’ll bring you a guest Master who’ll share their “5 bullets”.
James Smith is an Australian PT whose vids have been shared by quite a few Masters friends. They’re well put together, funny, informative, myth busting and no BS – mainly on the topic of nutrition. Even if you don’t learn anything new, you’ll have a chuckle and they’re good to share with friends who are following the latest fad.
Intensus Coffee. Ben Bergeron described caffeine as one of the 4 supplements he recommends all his athletes take to get the most out of their training (Fuelling the CrossFit® Athlete, 17m40s). We’ve pre-ordered a new coffee roasted by CrossFitters, for CrossFitters in the UK. We’re looking forward to an intense WoD!
What we’re putting in our kitbag…
They don’t quite fit in our kitbag but we’re loving Bulldog Gear’s Ballistic Blocks – two of them make great Oly Lifting blocks for the low hang position and they feel pretty rocket proof. Just grabbed some for the garage gym.

If you think it sounds a little militaristic, you’d be close. The author is Jocko Willink – ex-Navy Seal. The point he is making, though, has some pretty good civilian (and CrossFit) applications. For example, if you want to be physically free to move how you want, and to be free from issues caused by poor lifestyle choices, you have to have the discipline to eat healthily and work out regularly.
